Ducks Unlimited (DU) is partnering with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Sheboygan County, and the Sheboygan County Conservation Association among others to enhance 14,000 acres of wetland habitat at Sheboygan Marsh Wildlife Area by replacing an outdated dam structure. Sheboygan County and the Wisconsin DNR have had longstanding problems managing water levels at Sheboygan Marsh, particularly during rain events, which have caused a myriad of issues, including an overabundance of invasive cattail mats that threaten the marsh's biodiversity and infrastructure.
